PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE
Matthew Flinders Anglican听College听is investing in the Flinders Master Plan to provide new contemporary learning spaces on campus for our 1,400 students from Prep to Year 12.
Our goal is to build on our College鈥檚 reputation for academic excellence whilst maintaining a clear focus on the wellbeing and potential of each child.
To achieve this goal, it is vital that we provide flexible and versatile learning spaces, equipped with modern technology, that enable our students to learn 21st century skills like creativity, collaboration and innovation.
The second phase of the Flinders Master Plan (2025-2029) will design and complete the following projects:
- Secondary School Science Precinct
- Primary School Prep to Year 4 Classrooms
- Three-phase rollout of a Sports Precinct and Facilities
Completed projects of the Flinders Master Plan (2019-2024) include:
- the Infinity Centre (opened in January 2024)
- Wonderarium learning centre in the Flinders Primary (opened in 2021)
- the Flagship Centre in the Flinders Primary (opened in January, 2021 catering to our Years 5 and 6 students).
Flinders has a 15-year Master Plan for the future to ensure the College continues to strive for excellence and provide high quality, functional, expertly designed facilities to support effective teaching and learning, and top quality facilities to support our diverse co-curricular opportunities.
Design Rationale
The Flinders Masterplan recognises that an agile learning environment has the ability to turn a static space into a dynamic space, and to encourage all learners to be creators rather than consumers.
To encourage agile learning, the new facilities are designed with movable furniture and walls, and equipped with intuitive digital technology.
This design approach enables students and teachers to move, interact and collaborate as they engage in different pedagogical styles and work on different tasks.
At Flinders, we notice students rise to the challenge of these modern classrooms. Students develop a new mindset where they are active and ready to spontaneously engage in personalised and hands-on learning as well as group work, team building and other 鈥榝lipped鈥� learning activities.
In terms of aesthetics in design, the new Flinders buildings are light-filled, aspirational and modern spaces that are a pleasure to teach and learn in.

Infinity Centre
OPENED IN TERM 1, 2024
The two-storey Infinity Centre in the Secondary School is a dynamic and agile hub for students to embrace and explore entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity and design thinking.
The Infinity Centre supports learning across the subjects of Visual Arts, Design and Technology, Digital Tech, Business and more. It is a technology-rich facility, featuring dedicated specialist spaces to support student projects as well as maker spaces with resources, equipment and materials, and exhibition and presentation spaces, including a high-end gallery.
The facility provides students with challenges and opportunities to develop a sense of maturity, directing them towards their future post-school learning pathways.
Wonderarium
OPENED IN TERM 4, 2021
Primary School students at Matthew Flinders Anglican College on the Sunshine Coast are learning in their brand new Wonderarium 鈥� a place designed to inspire wonder, awe and curiosity through literature, artefacts, works of art and provocations.
The $1.3 million state-of-the-art facility is wholly funded by the Flinders Foundation. To learn more, watch by our Head of Primary, Mrs Trudi Edwards.

The Flagship Centre
OPENED IN TERM 1, 2021
Designed over two storeys, The Flagship Centre supports our Year 5 students on the ground level and our Year 6 students on the first floor. The space is a welcoming and flexible environment, with richly integrated technologies, to ensure the learning is innovative and personalised to each student's needs.
The Centre's seamless integration of indoor-outdoor learning also enables our students and staff to engage with nature for their enhanced wellbeing.
