Homework

Aims

Independent study is an integral part of being a student at žžƵ Academy Halifax. Students will have homework set on a regular basis that is both meaningful and appropriate to their age and ability. The completion of homework helps students to make excellent progress and is crucial in supporting students in reaching their goals.

Home learning is set to:

  • Develop independent study skills which will support students to achieve strong academic outcomes
  • Consolidate, reinforce and extend what pupils know, understand and can do in the classroom
  • Focus on knowledge recall and retention
  • Involve parents and carers in the students’ learning

Students are expected to complete all pieces of homework to the best of their ability. Homework Club is available to support students after school if they wish to attend. It is a quiet space where students can complete their homework.
